Mayor's Message

The following is a note that Mayor Marchese sent to Mayor Nancy Rotering of Highland Park

This week’s Mayor’s Message is quite different from those that I have written in the past, but hopefully, just as meaningful to our readers.

I attended my first baseball game when I was nine years old, and the memory of that game has stayed with me my entire life.

I was on my way home from City Hall one day last week, giving thought to several city-related items when a song from the 1960s came on the radio, and I found myself singing along.

I lost a friend and work acquaintance last week, which put me in a reflective mood; I thought how life seems to move by so rapidly, and as I find myself saying goodbye to good friends and family, I also find myself recounting the memories of the things we did and shared together.
