Mayor's Message

The longer days, the sprouting of plants awakening from their winter hibernation, the greening of our lawns and the budding of our trees, the patter of raindrops and the sound of neighborhood children playing outdoors are all serving as signs that spring is upon us.

Several weeks ago, I wrote a Mayor’s Message that began with a quote regarding “comfort” and “truth” and how one affects the other.

Several years ago, my nephew’s fiancé asked me what we mean when we say; Darien is “a nice place to live.”

Have you ever shared something happening to yourself or to someone in your family with another person and heard the response, “I’ll keep you in my prayers?”

The Darien City Council completed its review of the FYE23 budget on March 1 and will hold a public hearing and final approval in April.
