I attended my first baseball game when I was nine years old, and the memory of that game has stayed with me my entire life.

I was on my way home from City Hall one day last week, giving thought to several city-related items when a song from the 1960s came on the radio, and I found myself singing along.

I lost a friend and work acquaintance last week, which put me in a reflective mood; I thought how life seems to move by so rapidly, and as I find myself saying goodbye to good friends and family, I also find myself recounting the memories of the things we did and shared together.

It had been close to 30 years since I last saw him; we were friends in high school, spending time outside of school meeting at each other’s home, going to a movie or just driving around in his GTO with the “bobble head” dog in the back window.
