Pesticide Notification

 We want to inform you about the new Illinois right-of-way law, which took effect on January 1, 2025. This law introduces important changes regarding the application of pesticides on public rights-of-way, and we want to ensure you are fully informed about these updates.

Introduction to the New Law: 

The new Illinois right-of-way law mandates specific notification requirements for the application of pesticides on public rights-of-way. This is to ensure transparency and public safety. The responsibility for providing notification before pesticide application on public rights-of-way falls to the State or a unit of local government. 

Notification Requirements:

According to the law, the following information must be provided in the written notice at least 24 hours prior to any pesticide application. 

TruGreen will ensure that all the following details (1-8) are provided to you:

  1. Intended Location, Rip Rap Areas throughout the City of Darien (see page 37 of our contract) Once the applications are scheduled I will send you the dates and approximate time of day.
  2. Product Information: The brand name, common name, and scientific name of each product that may be applied.  Finale XL and Sure Guard EZ
  3. Type of Pesticide: The type of pesticide contained in any product that may be applied. Non-selective herbicide
  4. Reason for Use: The reason for the use of each product that may be applied.Total vegetative control
  5. Concentration Range: The range of concentrations of the end-use product that will be applied. It depends on the filling requirements and the application specifics.
  6. Special Instructions: Any special instructions appearing on the label of the product applicable to an individual's use of the public right-of-way following an application.
