Mayor Marchese asked residents to share what they love about Darien and we will be sharing their thoughts over the next few weeks.
Here’s just a few things why I love living in Darien:
- Snow removal: our streets get pre-treatments before a predicted snowfall and the crews are out to clear the streets to make them passable. Can you say that about other nearby towns?
- Inter-governmental agreements make it so that snow removal, for example, gets done at government buildings, schools, library and park district facilities get cleared in the event of equipment failure by one of the entities. In other words, they cover for one another!
- City officials and staff are accessible.
- Darien operates within a balanced budget.
